Things to know before you get a dehumidifier

September 19, 2016

The size of a dehumidifier is usually determined by the amount of moisture it extracts from the air in a 24-hour period. The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers' guidelines are a good resource in deciding on a correctly sized dehumidifier. Portability is also important, especially for dehumidifiers that will be used in multiple rooms. Ideally, the unit should be lightweight, compact and have rolling casters or carrying handles.

A built-in humidistat is a good feature to have because it allows for the humidity levels to be adjusted. The unit also turns on or off automatically depending on the humidity levels. An automatic shut-off feature prevents the unit from overfilling and saves power.

Storage tank capacity is an important consideration because a larger storage tank does not need to be drained as often. The alternative is purchasing a continuous drainage model, which drains the moisture directly through a hose. Finally, a dehumidifier with a removable or washable air filter is simple to maintain, and helps save money on parts. (Source)

Fun night light as christmas gift

September 19, 2016

I was a little weary of this because of some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. It it plastic, yes, but it seems like it is well made so far. It is a little fragile, so I wouldn't put it near uncontrollably curious hands. I love that there are so many options. You can use this as a lamp with the cover on, you can use it without the cover, you can use it spinning or staying still, etc. You can switch the colors of the stars. You can even switch the background from black to white. ...

Very glad I purchased this portable air conditioner for our home

September 19, 2016
I have a 550 sq foot room to cool in a very hot and humid Texas climate. This air conditioner does the job very well. It has a thermostat so it shuts off once the temperature is reached although the fan always runs. It is a bit noisy but not too noisy you want to take this amazing cooling device out of your room. There is some setup required but it is fairly easy to do and can be done in under 30 minutes. Comes with a remote but has all the buttons to control it on the unit as well.

An Advantage of Owning a Whole House Humidifier

August 20, 2014

There are a few advantages of owning a whole house humidifier. A whole house humidifier would be able to keep the entire house in a humid condition which is not something that a small portable humidifier can do.

Having a whole house humidifier is convenient in the sense that you don't have to refill and maintain many portable humidifiers. Rather than spending money buying a few portable humidifiers and placing them all around the house, you should get a whole house humidifier to do the work. ...

When Curiosity Does Not Kill

April 3, 2013

Frustration is turning me into a monster instead of being a normal human. Well, that was until I found the best dehumidifier. Not long ago, I inherited a mansion form my grandparents. Looks fancy on the outside but not really in the inside. I've always had trouble with the musky smell, and not only that, the smell gets to my designer clothes and sometimes even mold would form.

Feeling disgusted, I frequently send my clothes to the laundry service almost every week so that they will properly c...

Good Investments for Hot Days

March 29, 2013

Living in a country with 365 days of sizzling hot tropical sun and blue skies, the air-conditioning systems are the most important thing to us. Being under a mere ceiling fan could not dissipate the humid heat and would make us sweating pails. Dad, being a big and burly man, is not a fan of the heat. After reading rants and raves of portable air conditioner reviews on the Internet, he discovered that the pros outweigh the cons. He drove to the electronics shop and purchased two units on the s...
